For decades, musicians have been looking for a way to save their modular synth patches. With the Ars Memorium State Recall Matrix, we have invented a way to not only save and recall the state of your patch, but to interpolate between each state—all under voltage control.
Matrix Synthesis
The Polymaths suite consists of four modules that enable a new form of synthesis. Matrix Synthesis allows musicians to morph between parameters in real time, and under simple control. The Ars Memorium’s X and Y inputs can be mapped to a joystick, for easy control of every parameter in your patch. Our velocity and inversion modules, offer simple ways to map and scale control for the Ars Memorium. Finally, the Enochian Tablet—our take on a Matrix Mixer—opens up your most insane feedback patches to state-recall and morphing.
Controlled Chaos
One of the hardest things about modular synthesis is losing all of the interesting sounds you find as you change parameters and alter connections. The Polymaths Suite solves this problem by allowing you to save every interesting sound you find. In complex feedback patches the Ars Memorium and the Enochian Tablet allow for precision recall of even the most complex, chaotic sounds at the twist of a knob.
Plug and Play:
New to modular synthesis? No problem. Morph between any sound you can dream up on your MIDI CC equipped poly synth, rack effect, or guitar pedal using the templates we designed. All you need is a midi interface and a cable, and you have access to controls for dozens of synthesizers and effects. From classics like the the Roland JV-1080 to modern standards such as the Strymon Timeline and the Korg Minilogue, you are always just steps away from strange, new sounds.
Optimized
It’s no secret that emulating an analog modular system is resource intensive. While many VCV modules are resource hogs, our modules have been optimized for VCV and will run smoothly on any modern system without taxing your CPU. Every Magus Instrumentalis module has been benchmarked and extensively beta tested to ensure fast, bug-free performance. Our modules are designed with intuitive exploration in mind.
